Melon - Cucumis melo, L.
Melon is a fruit of the Cucurbitaceae family, original from Asia and acclimated in Brazil. It belongs to same family of watermelon.
Itaueira produces yellow melon (yellow honey dew) in an irrigated area of the city of Itaiçaba. Interior of the State de Ceara, and a testing in 2002, the production of the Orange Flesh variant.
In Brazil, Itaueira distributes its melons in the Central-Western, Southern and Southeast term regions.
The company delivers the fruit in cooled containers to Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain.
